This course teaches the life-transforming power of counseling with Scripture, equipping students with essential skills such as effective listening, prompting, paraphrasing, and asking open-ended questions. Students will explore five models of counseling ministry: pastoral counselors, Christian counselors, lay counselors, groups, and Christian coaches. They will also learn how to use Scripture to minister healing to broken hearts, focusing on issues like anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, and depression. The course provides an overview of how long-term counselors help counselees address deep-rooted problems and achieve wholeness, while building a strong sense of self-worth based on God’s love and forgiveness.
