FOR THE SAKE OF MY CO-WORKERS…
Her young secretary was in a coma and expected to die. Her boss called a company meeting to inform everyone and he asked Rev. Deb to “say a prayer.” He had no idea what he was asking for! LCU graduate, Rev. Deborah Smith immediately sought God: “Lord, I don’t know how to pray for her. If she dies, she is going to go to Hell.” God gave her specific instructions on how to pray: “Just pray what I prayed when I raised Lazarus from the dead.”
And Jesus looked upward and said, “Father, I thank you for having heard me. I know that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here, so that they may believe that you sent me” (John 11:41,42).
Even though Rev. Deb knew that most of her co-workers were not born again, she boldly obeyed God, spoke out the scriptures that He had given her, and then declared, “For the sake of those standing here, I draw a bloodline in the sand and I declare that Rachel will live and not die, that she will be raised up. She will walk, she will talk, she will think, and she will not be a vegetable.”
Rachel’s healing did not happen instantly. Rev. Deb faithfully visited her in the hospital, praying over her and praying with her parents.
Everything God told Rev. Deb to declare that day came to pass.
That’s what happens when a faith-filled believer takes bold action and takes the Kingdom of God by force!
NOTE: Everyone at the company meeting was shocked! Some of her co-workers were offended by her faith – a few even pressured her boss to fire her! But the Word of God does not return to Him without accomplishing His purposes. Many in the company were moved forward on “the Readiness Scale*.”
